Agenda

  1. Running meetings in 2008 without president

The group agreed to the idea of a rotating chair for meetings until the position of president is filled. Lynn Butler will chair next meeting
on March 25 (Sarah Heitkemper will cover if needed.) Carol Cron will chair the meeting on April 29.

  • Service Directory
  • The group agrees it wants to keep the service directory alive on the web site. Lise Boorse will be the new contact and update for the Web
only on a schedule that will be left to her discretion. Carol Cron will provide some initial assistance getting it off the ground.

  • Flyer
  • 1000 flyers have been printed advertising the UPCA and the directory. We'll use these to had out at events and Lise Boorse will act as
    contact on the flyer.

  • Updates on upcoming events
    • Stream Clean-up
Julie McLaren will definitely do stream clean-up and she will get back to us with date
    • Townwide Yard Sale
Will be May 3rd, and be organized by Sue Wagner.
    • Arts in the Park
Tentatively set for June 7th, with Melinda Moore and Sue Wagner organizing. On track to have Cheek to Cheek perform again.
    • Halloween
The idea of having a "battle of the bands" type of competition to involve older children more was discussed and will be suggested to the
      event organizer.
    • Wine and cheese
No one has volunteered to organize. The idea of supporting the UPES wine and cheese in the fall was discussed and will be on the agenda
      for next month.
    • Additional stream clean-up
Via email, Dixie Meadows suggested additional stream clean-ups. The group agreed we like the idea but do not have the volunteer bandwidth
to take on. It was suggested we can put Dixie in touch with local boy scouts or girl scouts, if she is interested in spearheading.
  • Clean-up of garden areas (triangle at top of Queens Chapel and at the Pineway entrance to the neighborhood)
  • In email, Dixie Meadows suggested we get a professional in to clear out the wiry grass on the Queens Chapel/Rte. 1 triangle and expressed
interest in supporting redesign of bed on Pineway. Some people expressed interest in this project and Lynn will follow up with Dixie
    about potential next steps.

  • Resuable Event Signs
  • Melinda will send Christine web sites for ordering signs to bring to a vote at next meeting. If group agrees, Christine will order.

  • Other Business
The UPCA continues to operate without several officers, including president and vice president. While this is not unprecedented, the UPCA is actively seeking volunteers to fill these two positions.
  • Next Meeting
The next meeting of the UPCA is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25th at Riverdale Presbyterian Church.
